Description
Gas welding is a process that melts and joins metals by heating them with a flame caused by the reaction of fuel gas and oxygen. The flux may be used to deoxidize and cleanse the weld metal. This is typically done with a gas welding machine, which uses valves that control the flow of oxygen and fuel gases into an open flame or electric arc.
The process takes place in three steps: heating up the weld area; melting the metals together; cooling down the joint for solidification.
